What a special session this was. As our nation celebrated it’s 250th birthday, The P Family welcomed their dear parents/grandparents visiting from Taiwan. Natasha’s sweet parents were clearly so proud of their daughter and the life she and her husband have built here in the United States. It is truly an honor to capture these images of family being together.
The Z Family - Mini Portrait Session
I met the Z Family for a quick afternoon session at North Park in May. We were blessed with a beautiful spring day, and the kids were all smiles.
Although golden hour is such a magical time for lighting, I can do morning or afternoon, as well. I completely understand that with baby schedules, sometimes there is no other choice. Just give me a big ol’ shady tree, or the shadow of a brick wall, and we’re golden! (see what I did there) Keeping your family happy and comfortable is the most important thing!
This sister/brother duo have some of the most gorgeous eyes I’ve ever photographed. They were a joy to work with, and I hope to see them again some day as they grow.
The K & G Families
It was such a pleasure to capture images of the love this extended family has for one another. After 15 years of living states apart, they are now all back in Pittsburgh, and so thrilled to watch the grandkids grow up together.
It drizzled on and off all day, but after rearranging our plans, we met at the North Park boathouse for a beautiful session celebrating togetherness.
The woman at the centerpiece of their family - their sweet Grammy - was so happy to have these beautiful grands all together.
Getting family photographs is so important, not only to capture the here and now, but also to preserve memories for the future. I hope these images always remind them of their mother-daughter bond, and bring joy for generations to come.
The J Family - Extended Family Session
It was wonderful to meet the J Family for an early October session in North Park. I chose this spot, as I’m currently obsessing over this strong, magnificent tree, but also because of it’s symbolism for an extended family session. The branches may sprawl out in different directions, but in the end they come from the same sturdy trunk, and are nourished through the same strong roots. A great metaphor for family.
As it turns out, this corner of North Park is one the family drives past regularly. An ordinary part of their day, which will now remind them of this time spent together.
Mandy & Rianna - Sister Milestone Session
This year, many of my friends and I have turned 40. It’s an age that society has taught us, especially women, to fear, but as this milestone has been met, I’ve noticed it’s been celebrated rather than rushed for both myself and those around me.
Mandy & Rianna are twin sisters, and sweet friends of mine whom I’ve known for nearly 20 years. I admire them both so much as mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends. They are both artists in their own respect; Mandy a fellow photographer who inspires me with her work, and Rianna with her eye for decorating. I knew that working with them to mark their 40th year would be magical, as they also find the beauty in the details of simple joys.
For their session, we brainstormed and landed on a picnic setting in North Park. A location tucked between their two homes, and an activity that they often shared with their loving mother, who went to heaven a little over a year ago. They brought along their grandmother’s picnic basket; which they keep in use, their favorite flowers and wine, and a scrapbook and photo album filled with memories from the last four decades.
Besides a birthday, these sisters also share such a strong faith in God. They’ve leaned on Him throughout their lives, and continue to be shaped by His grace.
This gorgeous tree that we found for the session seemed like such an appropriate setting. Just like Mandy and Rianna, it’s gorgeous and strong. We also found two little hearts nailed into the trunk. A perfect little sign from above.
Every little detail of this session was so heartfelt, right down to the sister knot rings they both wore (unplanned - in true twin fashion). It was a dreamy Golden Hour spent with them, and truly an honor to celebrate 40 years of sisterly love.
The G Family - Mini Portrait Session
It’s always a pleasure to see The G Family every year. I’ve been watching the kids (and Marshall the dog) grow since little Camden was a baby. I’m happy to offer a Mini Portrait Session package year-round for those who want a simple update to their family portraits without an extensive session - it perfectly suits families with pets and little ones.
Every year, The G Family chooses a new spot to mix up the background of their pictures, and this year, we landed on North Park boathouse. I love this location because you can get a majestic natural background and a cool stone building in one location. Great spot for families too with OTB Boathouse restaurant and Millie’s Ice Cream right there! A great incentive post-pictures! These kids definitely earned it, as they were perfect…and Marshall was too. :)
Eli is One! - First Birthday Session
This is ONE cool dude. I was so excited to meet Eli and his family for this gnarly session at North Park. From the straight brim hat to the micro Vans, this guy was decked out in skater style, ending his session in the cutest checkered suspenders for his cake smash. He was so squishy and adorable!
Happy 1st Birthday, Eli!
Atticus is One! - First Birthday Session
The Force is strong with this ONE.
I adore a good theme, and bonus points if Mommy and Daddy bring props! Atticus’ parents are big fans of Star Wars, as are their little guys, so bringing along some of their favorite toys was an easy way to enhance the photos, as well as keep Atticus engaged. In addition to this, his SUPER TALENTED mom made these costumes especially for the session. The most amazing part? They’re no-sew! She fashioned these masterpieces using only hot glue. Amazing!
Happy 1st Birthday, Atticus!
Ellie is Six Months - Baby Session
Ellie was a fashionista for her baby session, with a few holiday shots thrown in! She was so sweet, and reminded me of her sister who I photographed at the same age. We even did the same shot in the Santa bag that we did with her big sis.
Gina & Nick - Maternity Session
We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new pumpkin in my family. My sister-in-law Gina is due on Thanksgiving! This will be the 5th grandson on my husband’s side of the family. We are all very excited to welcome this new, little train engineer, and complete the cousin basketball team!
Carmen & Reece - Sister Session
Though they may be my most high-maintenance clients ;), my nieces never disappoint when it comes to a photo shoot. We found a cozy little nook by the boathouse in North Park to snap some pictures while the sun cast a golden glow on their golden locks. Armed with bubbles and patience, these little sweeties could not have been cuter for their Aunt C.
Kadence - Senior Portrait Session
I truly enjoyed photographing “KK” for her senior pictures. She shared with me her plans to become a nurse, and even in the brief amount of time I spent with her, I could tell she possesses the qualities to succeed in that field, as she came across as sweet, caring, and patient. Such a lovely girl to photograph on one of the last warm days of the fall.
She was sure to incorporate some meaningful pieces in her images. A necklace given to her by her grandma, who has been her rock, and rose embroidery, which is her favorite flower. Such special touches.
Best of luck to you in all your endeavors, KK!
The P Family - Family Portrait Session
The P Family chose to have their session at North Park because of all the family memories they’ve made there. Their mama requested some up-close, natural portraits of each child, which is my favorite style to do! A great way to fill the walls of their home with the sweet details of their children’s faces at this most precious time in their lives.
The M Family - Family Photography Mini Session
This sweet little guy was constantly on the move, but it was worth the chase to capture his smiles! What a sweet boy Nicholas is! These pictures come just ahead of his 2nd birthday.
I offer mini-sessions year-round. They are exactly half of a full session in time, edited images, and price, so they are a great option for families with toddlers who, let’s face it, just can’t hang for a full hour-long session. I get it - I’m in that stage of life too! If you have questions, check out the Pricing page on the website for more info, or reach out!
The Y Family - Family Photography
It was my honor to take the first portraits of this family since adopting their son Alek six months ago. It was obvious that Alek has already connected with his parents and looks to them for love and security. They had him laughing with silly lines from Toy Story and Boss Baby, and it was clear that they have already formed a family bond. What an amazing smile this boy has!
Alek was adopted internationally from Bulgaria, so not only is he adapting to his family, but also a new language and country. He is doing great, and so are his parents! May God continue to bless and guide them on this journey.
The G Family - Family Photography
It was such a gorgeous evening to capture this beautiful family! With temps in the low 70s, no humidity, and a beautiful sunset upon us, we could not have asked for better weather. Their sweet little guy was feeling under the weather, but you’d never know it! He powered through with his piercing blue eyes, and smiles courtesy of his grandparents.
Alin - Maternity Photography
I have been photographing this family for almost 3 years, since their first maternity session with their sweet daughter Lupita! They always bring the most unique, coordinated outfits, and I was so happy to see they did not disappoint with this session either! These stunning outfits are from Mama Alin’s homeland of Mexico. I absolutely love the vibrant colors, and the traditional touch…she looks gorgeous!
For location, we chose the North Park Boathouse, which I also learned is where this Mommy and Daddy had one of their first dates! What a perfect nod to their family story. We were also blessed with perfect weather, as the setting sun provided the perfect golden glow around this already glowing mommy.
The H Family - Family Photography
This family was absolutely lovely to meet and photograph. They’re new to Pittsburgh, so I was happy and honored to take their first family photos in their new city. Their sweet baby girl was so adorable in her sundress! It’s always fun to meet new clients from all over the country (and sometimes world), and capture a stage in their life, and hear a bit of their story.
The D Family - Family Portrait Photography
Skylar is just the cutest! She was so smiley and content with her little leaf. It’s so cute to watch babies marvel at the simplest things as they see our world for the first time. She played sweetly enjoying her first Fall. I hope her parents can cherish these pictures forever.
