Lucy - Newborn Session

It was such a pleasure meeting Lucy and her parents! I always enjoy incorporating a few special items into a session, so when her parents asked to bring along some things relating to their hobbies, I was all about it!

Lucy’s parents met on the golf team at Robert Morris University, and golf is still such an important part of their lives. They also both grew up in rural areas, and have a love of hunting - a hobby they still enjoy together. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time until little Lucy is learning both sports right alongside them.

It’s clear both Mommy and Daddy are so in love with their baby girl. I have a feeling that being her parents has already become their new favorite thing to do. Welcome to the world, Sweet Lucy!

Spencer & Maizey - Newborn Session

From double-scoops to double adorable! It was wonderful to see The S Family again. I first met Mom and Dad in April for our two-part maternity session, beginning with some fun shots at The Meadows where we highlighted a favorite pregnancy craving - ice cream!

In May, their precious new additions arrived and their family doubled! The new family of four visited the studio for their newborn session.

The sweet boy-girl twins wore classic pink and blue for their first ever session.

They also requested some starry sky themed photos, as well, and I just happened to have the perfect background packed away from years ago. They were so sweet lying together in the same wrap. Sissy loves to snuggle her brother.

Welcome to our big, beautiful world, you two! I can’t wait to watch you grow!

Jacob William - Newborn Session

This was a first for me, photographing a family of seven at my studio. I loved the beautiful pastel color palette this family chose, and the sweet snuggles they shared.

After the family photos were complete, the older siblings left, leaving Baby Jacob alone with his sweet, calming mama. He snoozed soundly for us, as I posed him in various wraps, and his mom enjoyed some fleeting moments of peace and quiet. I always try to make my studio feel like a cozy oasis for busy parents, and a calming atmosphere for babies, of course. Jake must have enjoyed the space too, because he kept giving me little sleepy smiles. What a bundle of joy!

Joseph Christian - Newborn Session

I was so happy to visit Joseph’s nursery for his in-home newborn session. I remembered just two years earlier when I was there to photograph his sister, and the room looked totally different. His mommy and daddy did a great job transforming the space to an adorable baby golf theme featuring olive green and natural wood tones. The family wore the perfect colors to compliment their surroundings, and big sis Olivia was all smiles!

Olivia, who just turned two a day before her brother was born, was so attentive, and even shared some of her play food with her new baby brother. Such a kind sissy!

We ended the session with some shots of just Joseph in his crib and snuggled in a basket. He slept soundly, and even gave me a few little smiles. He is such a sweet little guy, and I can tell he is already so loved. Welcome to the world, Joseph!

Nora - Newborn Session

Oh sweet Baby Nora! This adorable baby girl really fought us on the sleep, but we did manage to get a few “long blinks” here and there. I, personally, love the shot of her looking straight into the camera. What a doll!

Her beautiful name, Nora, is a derivative of her mother’s name, and has been repeated throughout her family tree. That is so special!

I also adore her little, pink newborn tootsies. I can tell she is so very loved by her Mommy and Daddy, and she knows she’s safe in their arms. Welcome to the world, Nora!

Grace - Newborn Session

When Grace’s mommy reached out to schedule her session, Grace was already older than the prime Newborn Session window of 5-10 days old. We were nervous that she might not stay asleep, but this precious angel proved us wrong. Not only did she sleep soundly, but she gave the sweetest smiles, and let us pose her, too!

I always take into consideration any preferences the parents have for their baby’s session, so for Grace’s we went with simple and neutral. I love the way these turned out! Capturing the tiny details in black and white is one of my favorite ways to photograph a baby. Her adorable, perfect nose, sweet fingers and toes, peach fuzz on the back of her ears, the newborn stretchies, and - my favorite - the swirl in her hair.

This sweetheart was alert for the end of her session, and looked right at me with her big, beautiful eyes. God bless you, Grace! It was a pleasure working with you and your mommy.

Riaan - Newborn Session

Sweet Baby Riaan may have had a tough start to his life, but he’s now home with his loving family, all snuggled and warm.

The holidays may be over, but this darling boy is still enjoying all things cozy. We started with some basket wraps for his individual shots, and then took a few of his precious tootsies - some of the cutest little feet! I also just love his long lashes. Such a handsome little guy.

His parents are so sweet, and were just radiating love and peace. As someone who used to work with pre-term babies in my previous career, I felt such relief for them to have their baby home after such uncertainty. They shared with me that they also recently moved during the days following Riaan’s birth, but they got through those stressful times with the unwavering support of family.

It takes a village, and Riaan is one blessed baby to be born into this one.

Everleigh - Newborn Session

Before the busyness of Holiday Sessions began, I had the pleasure of photographing sweet Everleigh and her family. This baby girl is so blessed. Not only does she have the kindest parents, but her big brother Reyden was absolutely born for this role. He is so in love with his baby sister.

What a perfect, precious little lady. Welcome to the world, sweet Everleigh!

Cora - Newborn Session

Baby Cora is so loved! I started her session with family and sibling pictures, giving everyone a chance to love on this precious little pink bundle. What a lucky little girl to have two big brothers to love and protect her.

We then moved on to her individual portraits, using both purples and neutrals. She was unwrapped to showcase her perfect little fingers and toes at the very end of her session. What a sweet little angel. Welcome to the world, Cora!

Avyanna - Newborn Session

What a beauty! Avyanna was a perfect angel baby for her session at the studio. She was so sweet and snuggly, and even gave me a few subtle smiles - and just look at those gorgeous lashes! I can tell she is so very loved by her parents. Welcome to the world, sweet girl!

Vera - Newborn Session

I was delighted to have my new niece Vera visit the studio. Her mommy and I are both fans of non-traditional “girl” colors, so it was a no-brainer for me to go with yellows and white for her session. The colors lent themselves perfectly to the flower of late summer - the sunflower - and the most petite, sweet flower that pairs perfectly with a newborn - baby’s breath.

Our sweet girl slept perfectly, and Big Brother Leo did a great job too!

She gave us peaceful, sweet, and smiley! Love this little one so much already!

Cash - Newborn Session

Baby Cash was a dream at his newborn session. He slept sweetly, even out of a swaddle. I loved the earthy neutral tones we did for the majority of his session, and how they brought out the hint of reddish blond in his hair. I equally enjoyed him in his little night cap, all ready for a slumber.

He also looked great in the soft blue/greens.

We ended his session with some nakey baby shots on a cozy brown blanket. He has some exceptionally cute toes, so I had to get some close-up shots. Mommy and Daddy will always want to remember when his little feet fit right inside the palm of their hands. These are the details that I love to highlight.

Liliana - Newborn Session

When Liliana’s mommy told me Baby Girl was 6 weeks new, I wasn’t expecting to get many sleepy images, but Baby Lili surprised me by giving the perfect combination of sleepy, smiley, and peacefully awake. The angels must have been singing to her in her sleep.

She snuggled sweetly with Mom and Dad, and her big brother Caleb.

We ended her session with a warm, cozy, feminine color palette. I love the sweet close-ups of her pink toes. Her little feet make the perfect heart. Welcome to the world, angel girl!

Raleigh - Newborn Session

Every session I do kind of takes on a life of it’s own. Raleigh’s session ended up focusing in on family. We got some wonderful family portraits, as well as capturing the bond between each family member and their new addition.

Mommy and Daddy each got to cuddle with sweet baby girl, and proud big brother got his moments with her too.

My personal favorite shots were the close-ups of the entire family admiring Raleigh and holding her close. I always give my Newborn Session clients both color and black & white shots, but close-ups of sweet details always lend themselves to simple black & white.

After Raleigh got comfortable and swaddled tightly, she settled in to her individual styled shots. Her mommy wanted a dusty rose color with wildflowers to match the colors and details of Raleigh’s nursery. I love this color scheme and the feminine details of lace and dried flowers.

I enjoyed having Raleigh and her family in the studio, and hope to see her again as she grows. Welcome to the world, Raleigh!

Finn - Newborn Session

It was an honor to be invited back to the P Family’s home to capture their newest addition, Finn William. Although his arrival came quickly after Big Sister’s, it is clear he was meant-to-be as he is surrounded by so much love. We started off his session with some family pictures, as his parents and siblings showed him such affection.

We then moved on to his basket pictures, where he was an absolute dream for the camera. Although little mister was awake for most of these shots, he was pleasant and oh-so-cute with his little smiles and kissy faces!

I always enjoy capturing the little details and candid moments in black and white. There is something about a colorless image that draws the eye more deeply onto the subject.

It was fun to meet you, Finn! Welcome to our world!

Lucy - Newborn Session

It was such a pleasure to meet adorable Lucy and her sweet parents. They came to the studio for a custom newborn session to capture this special time in their lives. We started out with some basket poses with Miss Lucy featuring pearls and lace. I love the dusty rose color, as well. It’s giving classic, vintage beauty, which nicely complimented the warm tones of the props.

We then moved on to family pictures. It was Lucy’s mama’s idea to contrast with the light blue and pink, and I think it looks great! Makes Baby Girl pop as she’s being snuggled by her parents. I was so excited to catch a little smile, too!

We ended our session with a Spring-y basket look, and a sweet tulle diaper cover that Lucy’s mama brought along. She looked like a tiny dancer in her daddy’s arms. Welcome to the world, Lucy!

Esra - Newborn Session

Precious Esra joins big sister Nelle and fur sister Maisie, keeping the femininity strong in their household! For Esra’s session, we first wrapped her in blue to match her nursery. Mommy & Daddy didn’t know if they were having a boy or another girl, so they went with the gender-neutral theme of stars and moons. They were also inspired by the beautiful Psalm 147:4 “He determines the number of stars and calls them each by name.”

I absolutely love the oversized cable-knit sweater trend that is happening for newborns right now. Esra looked so snuggly matching with Big Sis.

We ended the session by recreating a favorite purple look from her Big Sister’s session two and a half years ago. The girls looked nearly identical at birth, so we had to get some of the same shots for Mommy to compare and treasure.

I can’t wait to see Esra again in several months for her mid-year session! Welcome to our planet, sweet little star!

Sutton - Newborn Session

Before the holidays, I had the chance to photograph beautiful Sutton in the studio. She was comfy and cozy throughout her session, making my job a breeze as she slept soundly. I keep my studio warm with a space heater, and have all the wraps at an arms reach to keep the session flowing and comfortable. I also have a changing table for easy changes, and always discuss color preferences with the parents prior to the session day, so the experience is as seamless as possible, and the customers receive the images they imagined.

Jane - Newborn Session

Sweet baby Jane was a real-life doll for her session. A cherub on a cloud of blankets. She is so blessed to have such a loving family surrounding her in her loving home.
